Natasha Cazenave has been Executive Director of ESMA since 1 June 2021. Before taking up her current role she was Managing Director, Head of the Policy and International Affairs Directorate at the French Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), where she worked for over 10 years in various roles. During that period, at the international level, she was elected twice chair of IOSCO's Policy Committee on investment management in 2012 and 2014. In February 2015, she was appointed co-Chair of the Financial Stability Board's experts group on shadow banking. Natasha Cazenave began her career at Ernst & Young Corporate Finance as part of the Valuation & Business Modelling team. She spent eight years working at Deminor, a consultancy firm specialised in the defence of minority shareholders rights, where she was in charge of collective actions for investors who suffered losses as a result of securities violations, and the promotion of best practices in the field of corporate governance. She holds a Master's degree from the Paris Dauphine University in Banking, Finance and Insurance.
Director, Financial Markets, DG FISMA, European Commission
Martin Merlin started his career at the French Treasury in the Department of International Monetary and Financial Affairs. He then joined the Commission and since then has worked consistently across the various domains of Financial Services including positions in the Commissioner’s Cabinet, as Head of Unit coordinating Financial Services Policy and as Director Banking, Insurance and Financial Crime until his current position as Director of Financial Markets. He represents the Commission on the Board of Supervisors and the Management Board of the European Securities Market Authority.

Francesco is the Chief Executive Officer at Barclays Europe. Based in Dublin, he serves on the Board of Barclays Bank Ireland PLC, and leads the Barclays Europe Executive Committee. Francesco joined Barclays in London in 2010, as Global Head of Barclays Corporate Development, where in addition to corporate activity on Barclays’ behalf, he was responsible for all Principal Investments across Barclays Group. In 2018, he moved to the Investment Bank as Co-Head of Barclays EME Financial Institutions Group and was subsequently appointed Chief Executive Officer for Barclays Europe in 2020. Prior to Barclays, Francesco worked as a Senior Banker at JP Morgan in New York. Before JP Morgan, he held a number of senior roles at Bear Stearns, Lazard and GE Capital. Francesco holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from University of Oxford and a Master of Science in Economics and Philosophy from the London School of Economics. In 2022, Francesco was awarded the honour of Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy by the Italian government, in recognition of his contribution to financial services.

Corentine Poilvet-Clédière is Chief Executive Officer of LCH SA and Country Head, France, LSEG. Prior to this, Corentine acted as Head of Repo clearing, Collateral and Liquidity management at LCH SA and as such headed the global pool of Euro denominated cleared repos, offering 13 government debts and supporting a network of more than lore than 100 banks across the globe. She has been with the London Stock Exchange Group since 2012 and has held various positions including Global Head of Regulatory Strategy for LSEG and supported the creation of the Credit Default Swaps clearing business for LCH. Prior to this, Corentine worked in investment banking in New York City. Corentine holds three Masters degrees: Political Sciences in France (Science Po); Macro economy and monetary policy in the UK (Bristol University) and Finance in the US (Harvard Business School and Fordham University).

Michael Tae, Co-President, Investor Communication Solutions, Broadridge: Mike was appointed Co-President of our Investor Communication Solutions business in September 2023. In addition to this joint leadership role, he directly oversees our Mutual Fund Regulatory, Retirement and Workplace, Corporate Issuer, and Data & Analytics businesses. Throughout his career at Broadridge, Mike has served in several leadership positions, including as the Head of Strategy and M&A, and Chief Transformation Officer. Before joining Broadridge, he was the Director of Investments for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) at the U.S. Department of Treasury and held positions at Merrill Lynch and McKinsey & Company.
Principal Advisor, Financial Stability Institute, Bank for International Settlements
Jermy joined the Financial Stability Institute of the BIS in 2016. He is involved in managing the FSI's outreach programme for financial supervisors. He contributes to the FSI's published work, mainly on technology-related topics such as fintech, suptech and cyber security, and develops other policy-related material for FSI Connect. He also manages the activities of the Informal Suptech Network and coordinates the FSI's work related to financial inclusion. Previously, he was Deputy Director for Regulatory Affairs at the Institute of International Finance in Washington DC, where he led the formulation of the global banking industry's views on international regulatory issues. He also worked as a regulator in the Philippines, where he headed the Task Force on Basel II Implementation.
Vice President, Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy, EMEA, S&P Global
David leads S&P Global’s Government Affairs & Public Policy team in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa where he is responsible for engagement with regional and international bodies. He also coordinates matters relating to sustainable finance policy and regulation globally. Prior to joining S&P Global, David was Head of Financial Services at an international consulting firm focused on financial services regulation, commodity markets, and investor relations. He has also worked in a financial software company, a leading European security and defence think tank, and as a researcher for an international organization. David has served as the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU’s Sustainable Finance Task Force, as a member of S&P Global Sustainable1’s leadership team, the Chair of the Policy & Regulatory Working Group at the Future of Sustainable Data Alliance (FoSDA), a member of the High-Level Group on Financing Sustainability Transition, and a member of the Industry Advisory Committee for the Irish government’s financial services strategy. He has also been a member of the ESMA Sustainability Standing Committee as well as the UK and Hong Kong ESG Data and Ratings Code of Conduct Working Groups. In 2014, he was named one of the 40 Under 40 Rising Stars of Trading and Technology by Financial News. He holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin and the University of Cambridge.

Juan Orti is CEO - Country Head of Spain at American Express since 2016 and Head of Growth Markets Europe by which he runs our Card Services business for Spain, Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands, the Nordics and the Corporate International Euro Card business. Moreover, he is Chairman of American Express Europe S.A., the issuing arm of American Express in Europe, and Member of the Board of American Express Payments Europe, our acquiring arm. Next to his duties at American Express, Juan is Chairman of the American Business Council in Spain and Member of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain. Juan is also mentor for the Programa Consejeros Eje&Con. Prior to joining American Express, Juan developed his professional career at Citibank and Mobil Oil Co. He holds a graduate degree in economics and a postgraduate degree from IESE Business School.

Bryan Coughlan is the Chief Economist at BEUC, The European Consumer Organisation. In this capacity the interaction of the current competitiveness debates and consumer protection are the main point of engagement. In his previous role as the Senior Financial Services Officer at BEUC, he specialised in consumer protection on capital markets. The Savings and Investment Union (SIU) therefore remains a major point of interest, as it bridges the capital markets and competitiveness topics. Prior to working at BEUC, Bryan worked at the Federation of German Consumer Organisations in Berlin, in the financial markets team. Bryan Coughlan holds a B.A in economics and a M.A. in international economics, both from the university of Göttingen.

Andrea Beltramello has been the Head of the Capital Markets Union unit in the Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services, and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) of the European Commission since January 1, 2025. Prior to this role, he headed the Resolution and Deposit Insurance unit within DG FISMA. Between 2018 and 2023, Andrea was a Member of Cabinet for European Commission Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis, where he had responsibilities for financial services policy and regulation and trade policy during two Commission mandates. His earlier roles in DG FISMA include Deputy Head of the Communication Unit, and policy officer in the Capital Markets Union unit and the Free Movement of Capital and Application of EU law unit. Prior to joining the European Commission, he was an Economist/Policy Analyst at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, working across the Directorates for Financial and Enterprise Affairs, and Science, Technology, and Industry from 2007 to 2012. He also has experience in international trade and European affairs with a major European technology company. Andrea holds degrees from the University of Trieste in Italy and the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
Head of the Financial Regulation and Policy Division, DG Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability, ECB
Anton van der Kraaij leads the Financial Regulation and Policy Division within the Directorate General Macroprudential Policy and Financial Stability at the European Central Bank. His division focuses on regulatory policy for both the banking and non-banking sectors, addressing these areas from a macroprudential perspective. Anton represents the European Central Bank in international forums, including the Basel Committee’s Policy and Standards Group and the Financial Stability Board’s Financial Innovation Network. His research and publications primarily explore topics such as financial stability, central bank digital currencies (including the digital euro), and the rapidly evolving landscape of financial technologies. Before joining the European Central Bank in 2013, Anton gained valuable experience at the Dutch central bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a degree in Econometrics and earned a PhD in Operations Research from Maastricht University, Netherlands.

He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with an MBA in Finance and from the University of Innsbruck with degrees in Law and Applied Languages. In the two decades of his career as a senior investment banker he worked at major international banks, including Deutsche Bank, Citigroup and UniCredit, advising large corporate clients and financial investors. More recently, he has returned to the field of International and European Union Law, concentrating on financial regulation. Christian is the Finance Watch representative at the Banking Stakeholder Group of the European Banking Authority (EBA) and at the Securities and Markets Stakeholders Group of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
Chief Policy Officer & Member of the Executive Committee, Euronext
Dr. Jakub Michalik joined Euronext in June 2025 as Chief Policy Officer and Member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Michalik leads group’s public policy strategy and engagement with policymakers and regulators across financial markets, energy and technology sectors. Prior to joining Euronext Mr. Michalik served for 11 years at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), most recently as Head of International, Institutional Affairs and Communications, leading ESMA’s policy and stakeholder engagement on European and global levels. From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Michalik served as a Parliamentary Adviser to MEP Wolf Klinz on the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) of the European Parliament. Earlier in his career, Mr Michalik worked on financial regulatory matters for international banking and asset management institutions. Mr. Michalik earned his PhD in Law from University of Vienna and his Magister in Law from University of Graz, and holds the professional qualification as a solicitor. He is a frequent conference speaker, regular university lecturer, and active researcher in the area of banking and capital markets regulation.
Senior Public Affairs Director, Regulatory, Compliance & Public Affairs Euroclear
Pablo Portugal is a Senior Public Affairs Director at Euroclear SA/NV, which he joined in 2023. He focuses on market analysis, regulatory development and engagement with policymakers on a range of debates in financial services policy, wholesale markets and technology. He leads Euroclear’s policy work on the European Savings and Investments Union and represents the organisation in several external groups, industry associations and think tanks. Previously, he was a Managing Director at the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) where he was responsible for the work on the EU Capital Markets Union project. He has worked on the major financial crisis reforms and engaged in policy development and research projects in securities markets, banking, sustainable finance, financial reporting/auditing and corporate governance. His earlier experience includes roles with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the United Nations. He holds a BSc Econ (first class) in International Relations from the University of Wales and a Masters Degree (with distinction) from the London School of Economics.
