Dr Dirk Haubrich is Head of Consumer Protection, Financial Innovation and Payments at the European Banking Authority (EBA), London. The EBA regulates credit institutions, payment services providers, electronic money providers and other financial institutions across the 28 Member States of the EU. Dr Haubrich leads on the EBA’s work on payment services (which covers the security of internet payments, the revised Payment Services Directive and the Interchange Fee Regulation); consumer protection (including mortgages, personal loans, and payment accounts); as well as on the monitoring of financial innovation (such as virtual currencies and crowdfunding). Previously, Dr Haubrich held roles across the private, academic and public sectors: he was a Manager with consulting firm Accenture; Research Fellow at University College London and the University of Oxford; Policy Adviser with the UK Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit; Research & Strategy Manager at the UK Electoral Commission; and Project Manager at the UK Financial Services Authority.
Policy Officer, Retail Financial Services, European Commission
Mariana Santos, Policy Officer, Retail Payment Services, DG Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, European Commission Mariana Santos is a policy officer in the Retail Financial Services unit at the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union of the European Commission. Over the last two and half years, she has worked on the review of the second Directive on Payment Services in the internal market (PSD2), with a particular focus on fraud prevention. Mariana holds a PhD in Financial Geography from Durham University, UK, and before joining the European Commission worked as an academic researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

In his role, which he has held since December 2018, Konstantinos has responsibility for managing operations in the European Economic Area. Prior to joining Paysafe, Konstantinos held a number of international corporate, regulatory affairs and communications positions over a 15 year period, working across a range of industry sectors and European countries. Konstantinos is paysafecard’s Esports subject matter expert. He has been passionate about PC and video gaming since the early ‘80’s - from the early days of Amstrad and Commodore to the high-end PC and console games available today and MMORPGs in particular. He’s a member of various gaming guilds, including Saber Paragons and Circle of Lords, which are the biggest Greek guilds in the MMORPG Star Wars – The Old Republic. Konstantinos is also a member of Mobius PVE – an online community for Elite Dangerous with almost 6,000 members.

Elie Beyrouthy is Vice President of European Government Affairs at American Express since June 2017 where he leads the company’s engagement with European Union Institutions and advises senior leaders on EU regulatory and public policy matters. Elie Beyrouthy also represents American Express’ interests in several EU trade bodies and professional associations. Diederik Bruggink works at the European Savings and Retail Banking Group (ESBG) and at the World Savings and Retail Banking Institute (WSBI) where he is responsible for all payments topics worldwide. In that role, he analyses the multiple dimensions of the payments market, proposing and assisting in agreeing member positions with respect to their payments’ and related businesses. He is also advocates the associations’ positions on payments with policymakers, regulators, standardisation bodies, industry associations, and enabling a constant member dialogue on developments, with a particular focus on innovation. He is a Member of the Board of the European Payments Council a member of the Commission’s Payments Systems Market Expert Group and he was a member of the European Central Bank’s Market Advisory Group on the Digital Euro, to name a few.

Anna Martin is the head of Financial Services at BEUC, the European Consumer Organisation. She is in charge of retail banking, working among other files on the review of the Payment Service Directive 2, Instant Payments and the digital euro. Before joining BEUC, she worked for the German Foreign Office in the team coordinating the German EU Council Presidency. Anna holds a Master in European Affairs from the College of Europe, Sciences Po Lille and the University of Münster.

With over ten years of expertise in financial services policy, Frida Stokland, EU Public Policy Manager for Payments at Amazon, leads engagement with EU institutions on key regulatory initiatives, including payment services, the digital euro, and open finance. Prior to Amazon, she shaped public policy on financial market regulation as Senior Associate Vice President at Deutsche Börse Group for over five years. Frida began her career at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the EU, where she held several different roles, gaining first-hand experience in Council negotiations and deep insight into EU decision-making.

Pamela is a senior financial services executive with over 20 years of leadership experience across banking, payments, and fintech. She currently serves as the Interim EU Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of TrueLayer Ireland Limited, where she oversees commercial and regulatory functions for TrueLayer’s European license. Pamela leads TrueLayer's expansion into the European market as General Manager and currently focuses on scaling ‘Pay by Bank’ networks across the EU while navigating complex cross-border payment regulations. Previously, Pamela held senior payments leadership roles at Permanent TSB, contributing to the implementation of PSD2, SCA, and Open Banking protocols. She also served as a Director of the Irish Paper Clearing Company and held a critical leadership role at Northern Rock during the 2008 financial crisis. She actively contributes to industry and policy discussions in Ireland and participates in the CBI Pay By Account Working Group and the Ireland for Finance 2030 Strategy.
