Head of Unit - Sustainable Finance, DG FISMA, European Commission
Didier Millerot has been appointed Head of the DG FISMA’s Sustainable Finance unit since September 2024. The unit develops the EU Sustainable Finance Taxonomy and coordinates EU policies in this field. Didier has worked for the EC since 1994. He has held several Head of Unit positions in DG FISMA since 2012, the last one being Head of Insurance and Pensions.
Global Head of ESG Research, Barclays
Maggie O'Neal is a Managing Director and Global Head of ESG Research. She co-developed Barclays' approach to ESG Research and assumed her current role in 2022. Prior to moving to ESG Research, Maggie covered Basic Industries/Industrials and was named in the top three of Institutional Investor European Fixed Income Research team for her coverage of Basic Materials and Industrials since 2016. Prior to joining the firm in 2015, she was at Deutsche Bank for ten years, where she held a similar role covering High Yield Basic Industries and Industrials following a short time in Emerging Markets Credit Risk.
Vice President, Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy, EMEA, S&P Global
David leads S&P Global’s Government Affairs & Public Policy team in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa where he is responsible for engagement with regional and international bodies. He is also a member of S&P Global Sustainable1’s leadership team and coordinates matters relating to sustainable finance policy and regulation for the company globally. Prior to joining S&P Global, David was Head of Financial Services at an international consulting firm focused on financial services regulation, commodity markets, and investor relations. He has also worked in a financial software company, a leading European security and defence think tank, and as a researcher for an international organization. David is the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU’s Sustainable Finance Task Force, a member of the High-Level Group on Financing Sustainability Transition, and a member of the Industry Advisory Committee for the Irish government’s financial services strategy. He is also a member of the ESMA Sustainability Standing Committee and the UK ESG Data and Ratings Code of Conduct Working Group. In 2014, he was named by Financial News as one of the 40 Under 40 Rising Stars of Trading and Technology. He holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin and the University of Cambridge.
Senior Economist, WWF
Mr Sebastian Godinot has worked in the environmental sector for over 21 years and is currently the senior economist of WWF European Policy Office and Head of the Sustainable finance unit. His area of expertise lies in private and public finance, budgetary and subsidy issues, and the wider issue of sustainable economy. He has 12 year experience in EU finance policy. He is leading a WWF programme aiming at reforming EU financial policies to integrate sustainability requirements - focusing in particular on the EU Action Plan on sustainable finance and the Strategy for Financing the Transition to a Sustainable Economy. He is a member of the EFRAG General Assembly on sustainability reporting standard and of the ESMA Consultative Working Group of the Coordination Network on Sustainability. He was a member of the EU Platform on sustainable finance in 2020-22. Mr Godinot holds a postgraduate degree in Environmental Law from the University of Strasbourg, a Master’s degree in Private and Economic Law at Lyon University and holds a diploma in Business Management from Lyon Business School, one of the most renowned French business schools.
Global Sustainable Finance Leader, EY
Gill is the Global Sustainable Finance leader for EY’s Financial Services business. She is responsible for developing and building out our world class capability in this area. She helps EY’s Financial Services clients to create business value from Sustainability and accelerate their transition to a lower carbon future. Gill is passionate about making progress on the sustainable finance agenda and has been part of the Embankment Project for Inclusive Capitalism for the past 6 years. Gill sits on the IIF Sustainability Finance Working Group and leads the Sustainable Finance knowledge partnership with the European Banking Federation. She has over 25 years’ experience in the wealth and asset management sector, both as a professional advisor and as an industry practitioner. In industry she has held senior technology roles at both AMVESCAP and JPMorgan.
