Juliette Beaulaton is Policy Director for Ecommerce Europe. She joined Ecommerce Europe in October 2017, and leads the work of the Payments Working Committee and the Sustainability Working Committee of the association. As a representative of the digital commerce sector, her work entails advocating for the best regulatory framework possible for retailers. In the field of payments, this includes the regulation of payment services, instant payment, costs of payments, authentication, and identification (European Digital Identity), consumer credits, and so on. Before joining Ecommerce Europe, Juliette studied political science and European politics in France before starting her career in European public affairs consultancies working on digital and sustainability policy.

Jakub Górka, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Finance and Head of the Digital Finance Unit at the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw (University Business School). Since 2012 he has served as an expert in the Payment Systems Market Expert Group (PSMEG) at the European Commission (DG FISMA). He is the author of numerous books and papers and acts as an advisor and consultant to both public institutions and private-sector organisations in the finance industry. His research interests include FinTech, money and (instant) payments, areas in which he is a passionate advocate and thought leader.

Based in Waterloo, Sébastien Albert leads Mastercard Europe's Strategy and Business Excellence team. With his team, he supports Europe by helping define the regional strategy, empowering teams with data (especially sales) & ensuring appropriate value exchange across the 4-party model. His scope includes Customer Economics, Strategy, Industry Engagement, Analytics & Business Insights & Sales Excellence. Sébastien previously worked in Finance and Strategy roles at Mastercard and also gained extensive experience advising Payment and Fintech companies on their most strategic priorities at the Boston Consulting Group. Sébastien graduated magna cum laude as a business engineer from the Solvay Business School. He is still involved in the school as teaching assistant for a strategy seminar.

Christophe Bonte is Senior Policy Adviser for Payments and Innovation at the European Banking Federation (EBF). He notably represents the EBF in various payments experts’ groups at the ECB, European Commission and EPC. Prior to this, he worked 10 years for the Swiss Finance Council (SFC) representing the interests of globally active Swiss banks at EU level. Before joining the SFC, he led the work on financial markets and post-trade at the EBF which he represented in the ECB T2S Advisory Group and COGESI. He gained experience in banking from his years in the global custody business at the Bank of New York Mellon. Prior to this, he lectured Swiss civil servants on European Affairs at the Swiss Institute for Public Administration. He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Geneva and regularly makes presentations to university students on business advocacy in EU financial services legislation.

Mariana Santos, Policy Officer, Retail Payment Services, DG Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, European Commission Mariana Santos is a policy officer in the Retail Financial Services unit at the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union of the European Commission. Over the last two and half years, she has worked on the review of the second Directive on Payment Services in the internal market (PSD2), with a particular focus on fraud prevention. Mariana holds a PhD in Financial Geography from Durham University, UK, and before joining the European Commission worked as an academic researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Marta is a member of the Secretariat of Payments Europe and a Senior Director at FTI Consulting. She supports Payments Europe in the development and execution of advocacy and communication strategies on all relevant payment policies, both at EU and international level. In the past, Marta worked for international law firms in different jurisdictions and represented clients from both the private and the public sector. She also worked as a reporter for a U.S.-based business publication writing about competition policy and its impact on the European industry. Marta is a fully qualified Italian lawyer, and holds a Degree in Law from Università di Torino and an LL.M from Georgetown University.

Anna Martin is the head of Financial Services at BEUC, the European Consumer Organisation. She is in charge of retail banking, working among other files on the review of the Payment Service Directive 2, Instant Payments and the digital euro. Before joining BEUC, she worked for the German Foreign Office in the team coordinating the German EU Council Presidency. Anna holds a Master in European Affairs from the College of Europe, Sciences Po Lille and the University of Münster.
